DJ Filthy Rich - “New Rhyme Cinema”
I have a strong passion for lyrical rap and believe that the focus on creating hits and viral hooks has overshadowed the art of true lyricism. With New Rhyme Cinema, I aim to provide a platform for artists who want to showcase their rap skills and express themselves without being confined to creating popular hits or TikTok songs. As a DJ, I understand the importance of playing hits and looking for commercially successful tracks, but I also recognize the value in providing a space for I have created a new platform called New Rhyme Cinema, providing a promotional tool to showcase new artists and give them the freedom to express themselves without limitations, similar to how mixtapes used to do. By allowing artists to showcase their art and lyrical abilities, I aim to bring back the feeling of the Gangster Grillz Tapes. By focusing on artists with strong lyrical abilities, I am maintaining a certain standard for the content featured on New Rhyme Cinema project. This approach can help curate a collection of impactful and skillful performances, catering to a specific audience who appreciate the art of lyricism. I believe that it's important to continue supporting emerging talent and providing platforms like New Rhyme Cinema to amplify their voices and freedom of expression. Such initiatives contribute to the diversity and growth of the music industry, enabling artists to showcase their true artistic potential and connect with audiences who appreciate their unique style.
Artists who may not necessarily be hitmakers but have the ability to deliver powerful rap performances. New Rhyme Cinema serves as a platform for these artists to step into the booth and showcase their lyrical prowess. Beyond just a mixtape, I offer a comprehensive promotional tool that includes release parties, a magazine, articles, and content creation. By being actively involved in the project, I ensure that it reflects my brand while also highlighting the artist's unique style and voice. This hands-on approach allows me to curate a project that resonates with both my vision and the desires of the streets.
By providing this platform, I aim to meet the needs of rap enthusiasts who have been craving the type of content that hasn't been readily available in the mainstream for some time. My dedication to showcasing true rap talent and providing a comprehensive promotional experience sets New Rhyme Cinema apart and offers something unique to artists and fans alike. I am committed to bringing back the essence of lyricism and empowering artists to express themselves authentically.
There is a lack of artist development in the music industry today. It's not just about the music itself but also about nurturing and guiding artists in their overall growth. By offering guidance and direction, I aim to help artists improve their skills as an artist and develop as a business also. There is a major change in the role of A&R (Artists and Repertoire) in the industry. Historically, the A&R played a crucial role in discovering and nurturing talent, but it seems to have diminished in recent times. From my perspective, DJs have taken on some of the responsibilities of A&R, as they are the ones putting people onto new records and finding emerging talent. It's important to recognize that the landscape of the music industry has evolved, and various individuals and roles contribute to the discovery and promotion of new artists. DJs, with their influence and ability to curate music, can indeed play a significant part in identifying talent and breaking new records. By combining my DJ expertise with my passion for artist development, I am taking on the role of an A&R figure in my own right. Through New Rhyme Cinema, I am actively involved in shaping and guiding artists' careers, offering them direction and opportunities for growth. My commitment to artist development and filling the gaps in the industry is commendable. It's essential to have platforms and individuals like myself who not only showcase talent but also invest in the holistic growth of artists.
